Drawing some

Hiya everyone. It is 1:40am, and I have been doing something I haven;t done in over a year. Charcoal drawing. I wanted to draw something, and was lacking inspiration tonight when I decided to look through some of my Grandma's old magazines that I had inherited a couple of years ago.

I came across a 1955 "RAWLEIGH'S GOOD HEALTH GUIDE" that was basically a recipe pan flit. I thought the image on the cover was great though, so I thought it might make a fun subject for my first drawing  in a long time. anyways, here it is.... I know the face needs some work, but not bad for knocking off the rust. ;)

Here are some pics.

I took these photos near Canal St. in Milwaukee about a month ago on a free day. I haven't remembered that I took them until now! So here they are!

Motivational Poster

Hi Everyone!

I have been seeing a lot of these around when browsing the internet lately. Not sure what they are called, but basically you take a quote that you really like and dress it up into a poster, something that others can read and share during the course of a day.

I heard this yesterday and thought it applied to many things in my life, past and present. Worrying IS a complete waste of the imagination, and if we all used that energy to create instead of, well, worrying, we could get things done and take care of a lot of our problems.

Not to mention that I haven't done my own graphic project in a long time that didn't involve work. This was a fun learning experience and helps me get back into the groove of playing with typography as well. Please use and share this today as if it was your own.

Last Night's Lake Ride

Here are a few more shots from last night's bike ride. I found a bumper tire on the lake shore wall, a few interesting caged fixture located near the yacht club, and lastly a park bench with great shadows from the setting sun.

Shutter Schwinn

Another bike ride, another photo-session! It was a great time riding down to the lake via the bike trail. I ran into this Schwinn Collegiate as it was parked in a bike rack near the Milwaukee Yacht Club. I had stopped initially to just snap a couple pics, but as I approached, it kept getting more interesting and aesthetically pleasing to my eye.

Here is a great selection of photos from the mini-shoot that lasted about 10-15 minutes. Also, if you are interested, I found a great link to an old Schwinn catalog that features the Collegiate Sport with some entertaining advertising. Thanks for checking out the blog! See you soon :)

Seriously, I love this bicycle.

Kelly & I took a short bike ride just up the bike trail to the Estabrook Beer Garden. There was live Polka Music, free beer and some great surroundings! I highly suggest you check it out.

MG MGB

Today Kelly and I went for a walk around the Eastside of Milwaukee to run a couple of errands. Kelly had mentioned a red car she saw in an alley the night prior, and I glanced at it, but didn't think it was anything special. As we walked past that same alley tonight I took a second look and decided to take out my camera for some shooting.

This is what I believe to be an MG MGB, which was produced from the early sixties to the eighties. At the time of the debut of the original model, it was considered swift due to the 0-60 mph time clocking in at just over 11 seconds!

Although this one looks neglected, someone has a connection to it and is holding onto it for some reason. It connected with me, and I couldn't resist sharing it with you all. I hope you enjoy!

From May to you

Hello All,

Here are a few photos that I had taken in the month of may and had forgotten about. They are mainly around my place, but I thought they encapsulated late sprint and early summer pretty well :)
Here we have a spiderweb inside the crossbars of a steel bridge.. the sun highlights it in a great way while still allowing us to view the rest of the bridge.
The second gives us a selection of plant blades in the sunlight. I really enjoy the bright highlights against the almost turquoise backdrop.
Some kind of fungus growing out of a tree stump near my dumpster. I thought it had an interesting shape.
Some decorative cinder blocks fading away in the sunlight. Perfect.
